About Alisha Witcomb, LMT

We are living in a fast-paced society with many responsibilities
and much technological input daily.
We often don't find the time
to just slow down, to sit with ourselves,
to check in with our minds, bodies or souls.

A big part of my practice as a massage therapist is to slow down time and give clients a safe and relaxing space to check in with themselves. I often use slow techniques in my massage which helps allow the nervous system to calm. I believe each of us has our own ability to heal. When we approach healing from a relaxed space we are able to tune in to our needs and truths in a more meaningful way.

I use a variety of modalities and techniques to help each client in their individual goals and needs. I am an empathetic listener who takes time to hear where my client is coming from on any given day. We become a team in partnership for their goal. The goal may be to relax, alleviate pain, to manage symptoms from acute or chronic pain or to help with side effects from medical treatments.

My experiences have included working with children, the elderly, and everyone in between. I have worked with people experiencing  chronic and acute illness, acute traumas and recovery. Working at the cancer center I have seen people throughout all stages of their treatment including post operative clients. I have learned that everyone can benefit from compassionate touch in a safe and meaningful way.

My experience as a massage therapist includes 14 years of working with patients in the cancer center, as well as seven years of working with patients throughout the hospital at FMC.  My ability to work with individuals in all stages of their healing journey's makes me unique to my field.

The results I have seen are a better sense of well-being in mind, body and spirit. I have seen people recover faster, require less pain medication, an improvement in sleep, stress, appetite and an increase in physical abilities. My practice is a sacred partnership between client and therapist to accomplish their goals for better health and quality of life. My intention is that each individual who walks through my door feels seen, listened to and leaves relaxed and experiences relief from whatever brought them in.
